My New Year

I love this day. Not the day Thursday, but this particular point in my life.

I hope nothing spoils it. If something does, I'll try to still love it anyway.

#9 Poem - Happy Birthday Lorena

Today is the ninth of November
It is one of a good day today
One of our friends is one year older
She's a cute girl in our class, I say

She is a quiet girl, with a little bit shy
But she's smart, and friendly, too
She looks so cute when she smiles
She's Lorena, Happy birthday to you ^^

#8 What is poetry?

Poetry is a kind of fine writing
Written by inspiration of one's heart
Beautiful words and phrases are using
To fulfill this piece of fine art

Poetry is a mirror reflect writer's mind
That has a lot of taste in one story
Sometimes cool like water, but sometimes like fire
Sometimes it is bitter, it really be

Poetry is a story that fun to read
But it's not good if we have to analyze
When we read through, it is so sweet
But when we seek for its meaning, that really not fine

sleep position

Sleep Positions

This is how we sleep:
On our backs, with pillows covering our chests, heavy as dirt
On our sides, like wistful spoons
Clenched, knees in-tucked, arms folded
Wide, like sprawling-rooted lotuses

In Iowa on top of pictures of Hawaii, huge white flowers on blue
In New York on black satin
In China on straw.

This is how our dreams arrive:
As hot yellow taxicabs;
As sudden blazing steam, we who have been pots on a stove,
looking only at our own lids;
As uninvited insects, all at once on our tongues.

O hairdresser, auditor, hardknuckled puller of crabtraps, you who
think poetry was school, you who believe you never had
a flying thought,
lie down.

i am a cyst

i am writing this in response of getting drugged from paracetamol...

like a cyst
encircling the essence
ever burgeoning...

explodes
releases unimaginable torment
slumbering thoughts
that awaken

Superstitious thinking...

Do you believe in superstition? I don't. But, sometimes you just can't help thinking superstitiously. In our discussion of the the poem "Invictus" in our Critical Reading class, our future is uncertain. I don't know what will happen an hour from now. I'll probably be at the field, eating and talking with friends. But, it's uncertain. An hour may sound long to some, but 60 minutes is just a short time, really. Anything can happen. I don't know what will happen in an hour's time, what more in a few years time. Okay, where am I going with this? Hm..back to superstitious thinking. Just a few minutes ago, I was at the Fellowship Hall practicing for choir tomorrow. After practice, I waited for a while before going back to the dorm. I had my bike with me, and it was parked at the new parking space for motorcycles. When I went to the parking space, I saw that someone had placed some leaves on the seat, and some flowers on other parts of the bike. Who placed them there, I don't know. When I saw those, I was thinking, "Hmm, it looks like the bike is 'dead' with those flowers on it." (like how you place flowers on someone's grave). Then this thought came to my mind: "This is probably a sign that I'll somehow fall off the bike on my way back to the dorm." I brushed that thought away, not wanting to think superstitiously. So, I threw the leaves and flowers to the ground and started the bike. I was carrying my violin and my stand on my left hand, so I had only my right hand to control the bike. So far so good, I didn't fall off...yet. I turned the bike and when I thought I had total control and balance of the bike, I absent-mindedly turn the right handle (which was the accelerator) and I lost control of the bike. By the time I realized what I did, I was already falling off the bike! I threw my violin to the ground and sort of jumped off the bike onto the sandy part of the ground. For one second, or two, I just stared at the bike. Then, quickly I started to lift the bike, grabbed my violin and got onto the bike. Haha! So much for my stupidity in thinking about that sort of thoughts. I was probably concentrating on thinking of what I thought earlier. It amused me actually, I laughed at myself (inwardly of course) all the way back to the dorm. :D

It's 4.46 p.m. Time to go to the field, and enjoy my last Loy Krathong festival!
