Don't Play Small

This morning I went to the library to get some books, and I borrowed this cute little light blue book entitled: Creative Wisdom for Writers by Roland Fishman. It's a compilation of sayings and quotes from writers of the past and present.

"This should be it, and why has the bell not rung yet? Is there gonna be a room check today?" I wondered as I tilted my blue broom against the balcony ledge. I notice that the sky is serenely blue, and rays of sunlight dim while the last fleet of birds make their way back to their humble abodes.

I feel the plastic surface of the book, and turn to the very first page of the book. Carressing the rough yellow pages of recycled pages, I commence my pilgrimage of comprehending what the past and present authors have to say about writing. Every page seem to open a new window in me, exposing myself a little bit more. My pupil widens, while cells in my eyes absorbs as much light as possible, reading a passage by Marianne Williamson...

"Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness, that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented and fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small doesn't serve the world. There's nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It's not just in some of us; it's in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we're liberated from our fear, our presence automatically liberates others."

I feel as if Marianne is seeing through me right now, penetrating even my bones. But why is it that we sometimes give so little but actually capable of more?

Aftershock

hmm hmm After not bothering to read my fiction writing for about 2 weeks, and receiving it yesterday plus reading it myself. I must say that there are major rewirings needed!!! This computer screen is really bright right now, and it's annoying my eyes. Today I encountered some 'annoyance' and it's not even midday yet.

What am I writing about?
I have CDs
Which are supposed to ease
All of them operas
of various male divas

Are there male divas?

Why do sometimes when we try to be creative, people think we're trying to be clever, and sometimes even weird?

YEAH!!!! I'm not playing for church this Sabbath!!!

I took out my little dark brown book, with the word "stories" embossed on its hard cotton woven cover, and put it into my school bag. I used to carry it all around last 2nd semester. But somehow it ended up with the books on my shelf. I realize how much I've left off, and how important it is to scribble down all the beautiful thoughts that come wandering like 'cotton flower' in the wind and Chipsmore cookies, "Now you see it, now you don't"

HAVE A GREAT DAY GUYS!!!

P/S: Sorry, I'm currently having trouble writing scholarly posts!! ahhahahahahahahahaah

#6 And the Reds Goes Marching On

During the midterm break there were two games that Manchester United played. The first one was very important game - Manchester United vs Liverpool at Old trafford, Man United's home. The game was really exciting. Finally Manchester United won by 2-0 by Luis Saha, French striker and Rio Ferdinand.
And another game was the away game against Bolton Wanderers at Reebok stadium. Manchester United won by 4-0 by two youngsters: Wayne Rooney and Cristiano Ronaldo (My favorite player ^^). Rooney score a hat-trick (three goals in one game), as a celebration of his 21st birthday. Happy birthday Wayne.
Now Manchester United are on the top of the table. The next game will be against Portsmoth on Saturday. The Devils will beat the Pompy and standstill at the top of the table, heh heh (^o^)

Monster in a Bottle

Monster in a Bottle
Characters:
Justin – Main Character of the story, he is tall, strong and handsome guy. His life is not easy, many guys envy him because he was be interested by many girls and he always had problems with those guys, but he also has his own problem that he is too shy to talk to girls so he still single.
Lydia – A monster, female monster that looks like a human girl, very sexy. She kisses people to suck their life energy as her food. Actually she has no name, Lydia is the name of her tribe, she was called by the name of her tribe.
Daniel – Close friend of Justin, studied in the same class. He likes mysterious and superstition story.
Nicolas – A guy that always has problems with Justin. He fight with Justin many times.

Story:
On a calm day in the park, there was a fighting between two men.
“Ouch!”, cried Nicolas while he lay down on the floor
“Would you like some more?”, asked Justin
“Heh heh, you are so strong. Today I’m not ready yet, I will pay you back next time”, Nicolas said and ran away.

Justin walked out of the park, on the way to his house he saw something: a necklace, with a very small bottle tied with it. He picked it up and look
“What is this?” Justin asked himself, anyway he was not in a good mood, after look to it for a while, he threw it away.

On the next day, Justin walked to school with Daniel, his close friend. On the way to school they pass through many girls, the girls were look at and gossiped about Justin.
“Oh, that’s Justin.”
“He is so handsome.”
“Why he is so quiet? Is he never interested in any one?”
“I really like him” etc.

Daniel also heard what they talk, he said to Justin.
“Hey man, I very envy you, the girls talk about you all the time.”
“Whatever, just forget it.”
“Oh come on man, you should find a cute one, I tell ya. Oh! I see, you never interested in girls, you probably be a …Ouch!”
The conversation ended by Justin’s (friendly) kick.

After school, Justin walked home. He realized what Daniel said in the morning. Justin never talk to girls because he was too shy to talk to them, but many people thought that Justin was an arrogant man, or he tried to make his image to be like a man in a movie, or even some people thought that he was a gay. That was really a big problem for him.

While he walked and thought, he saw a necklace on the road again, the same necklace, the one with a tiny bottle tied with it.

“Again?” Justin asked himself, but this time he took this thing to his home.

He backed home and went to his room, he sat and examined the necklace carefully, he found out that that tiny bottle there was the way that the people can open it. He tried to open the bottle to see what was inside

Pop!

It was full of smoke, after that there was something came out of this bottle. A girl, a young beautiful girl in a sexy dress, she lay down on the floor, she was sleeping.

“A girl!?” said Justin “so cute.”

Justin move his face close to her face to looked at her closer, suddenly her eyes were open, Justin stepped back.

“Wait, wait, wait, wait. A…A…I didn’t try to do anything ok!?”

She woke up and touched Justin’s face, she kissed him.

This is Justin thought: (Ah! I never realized that the kiss will excellent like this, whole body is hot like fire, the energy in the body is fading.)

Justin knocked out.

“Arrgh! Is he dead, ah, I’m so sorry about that. I didn’t eat for a long time so maybe I sucked too much, but anyway, I must do something with dead body before anyone see.”
Justin woke up “I’m not dead yet.”
“You still alive!?”
“Of course, but what you have done to me, I feel that myself is lacking of energy, you are the one who did it right?”
“Yup.” The girl said “I sucked your life energy as my food.”
“Huh?”
“Umm… I still hungry, maybe I should go out to take some more food.”
The girl walked to the window of the room, the wings on her back appeared.
“Wh…Who are you?” asked Justin
“Me?” said the girl “I’m Lydia, thanks for free me, and see you again later, bye.”
Lydia flew out and disappeared from Justin’s eyesight.

At night, Justin slept, he also dreamed
He dreamed that he was in a classroom, he saw Lydia killed many people in the classroom, and then she was going to kill Daniel, Justin cried “STOP!”

He woke up, and realized that it was just a dream.
In the next morning, Justin came to school, in the class, there was a few students came to the class, included Daniel. Justin wonder what was going on, but he didn’t know who he can ask and how he will start.

During the lunch break, Justin had lunch with Daniel
“I had a strange dream last night”, said Daniel
“What?”
“I dreamed that I was in the class, many people in the class were killed by a young girl in a sexy dress. I almost killed by her, too.”
“Huh?”
“And then in the morning, I saw many people didn’t show up in the class, I phone to their house, they said that they sick, they can’t come to school because they had no energy or something.”
“A girl in a sexy dress, make people lack of energy?”
“You know her, too?”
“Yeah! What a strange, I didn’t believe myself, too.” And then Justin told Daniel all of the story.

“She might not be a human” said Daniel “She must be a kind of superstition being! I heard that there was a kind of monster who get food by suck the energy of human being. Sure that she is!”
“What a stupid.” Justin said, but in his mind he figure out all the things and began believe in what Daniel said.

In the evening, there was a girl appeared in the school. Of course it was Lydia, her charm made everyone saw her as one eye. Nicolas (actually Nicolas studied in the same school with Justin and Daniel, but different class) said to her
“Oh! How beautiful you are, your eyes are so beautiful, your lips are … oh … it will be the greatest thing in my life if you give me a kiss.”
“You want to kiss me? Why not?”
Justin and Daniel were going to go back home, on the way Justin saw Lydia and Nicolas almost kissing each other.
“Lydia, stop!” Shouted Justin
Lydia stopped and saw Justin and said
“Oh Justin, I want to see you again.” She hugged Justin that made Nicolas really shocked.

Everyone saw Justin and Lydia as one eye, so Justin took her to the place that no one there.
“Hi, we meet again”, said Lydia
“Why you are here?”
“I want to see you.”
“You want to see me? Why?”
“Why? Because … Because … Umm… I forget it.”
“Uh?”
“But anyway, let me go with you until I can remember it, ok.”
It was better to let her go with him than let her went around and harm anybody, Justin said yes and took her home.

Lydia was tired all the day, she took a nap in Justin’s room. Justin was starting to did his assignment. He put his work on the table. On the table, he saw the necklace with the tiny bottle again. He came up with a plan.

The time passed by, at night, Justin asked Lydia to went for a walk together.
“a walk?”, asked Lydia
“Yeah.”
“Wow, that’s great. Where are you going to take me to? A shopping mall?”
“Nah, I have no money, just walk.”

The two walked on the road at night, Lydia was so happy.

They walked to the park, and then Justin pushed Lydia to the floor
“What are you doing?” asked Lydia “Are you going to rape me?”

In fact, Justin pushed Lydia to the magical wheel that written by Daniel.
“Justin called me in the evening to prepare for this plan. We have to do it in order to stop you to harm every body.”

“Uh…Ah…” Cried Lydia. The magical wheel made her lose her energy

Justin took the necklace with tiny bottle out from his pocket
“You find me because this one right? If you have it, no one can capture you and you will free. I can’t let you do that. I’ll capture you now.”
“No!”

Meanwhile, Nicolas back from buy some food in convenient store, when he walked through the park, he saw Lydia lay down on the floor and cried for help with Justin and Daniel stand aside. Nicolas rushed to Justin.
“What the heck are you going to do!?” Nicolas Shouted
He punched Justin, Justin tried to explain but Nicolas didn’t listen, he dodge Nicolas’ punch until his back almost leant the wall, at the wall there are many big and long sticks leant on the wall as well.

Finally Justin’s back leant in the sticks on the wall, the sticks were going to fall to Justin’s body.

“JUSTIN, WATCH OUT!” said lydia, she used all her strength rushed out of the magical wheel. She pushed Justin away before the sticks fell to his body, Justin safe.

“Lydia.” Said Justin
“Justin” Said Lydia “I’m glad that you are safe.” And then she was unconscious because she lost all her energy.

“Oh Lydia, you sacrificed yourself for me?” Justin kissed her, gave all his energy to her hoped that she will woke up.

Three days later
Justin was unconscious for three days, his mom took care of him
“Oh, thanks God, you are safe.”
“What’s going on mom?”
“Three days ago, Daniel and one guy took your home, and you were unconscious for three days. I don’t know how come a strong person like you become unconscious like this. Take care of yourself ok?” Mom said, “I will go to find something for you to eat.” And then she walk out of Justin’s room.

Suddenly there is a voice from the window
“Hi”, of course, it’s Lydia
“It’s you again?”
“Thanks for help me, you are really a nice guy.”
“It’s all right … but…”
What Justin saw is, Lydia wore the necklace with the bottle on her neck
“Hey! Give it back to me!”
“No. If I give it back to you, you will use it to capture me, right?” Said Lydia “But don’t worry, I’ll not harm anyone anymore.”
“Pardon?”
“I sucked energy from many people, but there is no energy that as delicious as yours.”
“That means?”
“Yes, from now on I will suck only yours.”
“Oh no!” cried Justin “Someday I’ll capture you, Lydia!”

Restructured Portrait

Plain empty darkness stared back at her as she looked out the small window to her side. The darkness reminded her of the emptiness that had stayed with her ever since the day after the graduation. Why did she have to leave? And why did it take her so long to finally reappear?

“Mae…”

Aiko was still staring at the nothingness on the other side of the window as she murmured the name. After awhile, everything around her turned blank, and the small conversations of the other passengers were hushed. She soon found herself awakening to the sound of the announcement coming from the head of the aircraft.

“We will be landing at Sydney Airport shortly. Please put on your seatbelts. Passengers are not allowed to leave their seats during this time.”

How long had she dozed off? She looked at her watch which was still ticking away at Singaporean time – less than a minute away to 7pm.

“Three hours ahead…”

Her voice trailed off as she adjusted the time on her analog modeled Movado Amorosa wrist watch. This was the watch that her boyfriend had given her on her 21st birthday three years ago. It had a slight scratch on the back of its silver coated body after she had accidentally knocked it off her table some months ago in her rush to catch up with an appointment that had somehow slipped her mind for some reason on that particular afternoon. Working in her father’s company gave her little time for other things. Time meant strictly business for her since she started helping out in the family business.

The engines of the aircraft roared. She tried to silence the nervousness, and the anticipation that was slowing building in her as the tires of the 200-passenger-seated aircraft came into contact with the surface of the runway. The airport could now be seen in full view. Another aircraft was taking off at another runway some short distance away.

Most of the passengers were now unbuckling their seatbelts, and lifting themselves from their seats. The aircraft had finally come to a full stop. Two flight attendants were standing at the main entrance of the aircraft waiting for the final instructions from the pilot. By now the aisle was filled with a line of passengers waiting to leave the aircraft.

“Where is she?”

A sense of restlessness settled in as she pushed the trolley. Brushing her way through the crowd of the other arriving passengers, her eyes looked around searchingly. The crowd, the luggage and trolleys, and the brightness of the fluorescent lights above her made her squint as she searched for the familiar face that she was expecting to see.

“It really would help a lot if…” and before she could think any further, there in the corner of her eyes she spotted someone that she felt she had known all along.

It was her. She couldn’t mistake her for anyone else. How could she possibly erase this person from her life? For awhile it seemed like the world around her had stopped, and everything else was motionless, except for her and this person that she was approaching. She didn’t know how exactly to react. Rush up to her and embrace her? Or hold back the emotions and greet her with the normal handshake? The separation was just too overwhelming, but she knew she had to take control of herself.

“Aiko…”

She somehow sensed that this soft and almost calm voice that called her name still carried the emotions of the past – the anger and the bitterness that this person had brought along with her when she left them that day. Who could have known it would create such an impact on her? It was a mistake…an irreversible mistake. Mistakes are always never right when it happens she thought to herself.

A momentary silence fell in between the two young women as they studied each other’s faces. The silence and the stiffened expression seemed all too familiar to her as a particular memory played at the back of Aiko’s head.

“Glad that you decided to come.”

Mae went up to the trolley and lifted the horizontally laid luggage.

“Let me help,” she said bluntly offering herself.

She gently brushed aside Aiko’s hand when she attempted to stop her. This really isn’t the way it should be, Aiko silently protested. Where was the traditional way of greeting? Where was the big hello? Where was the bear hug? Disappointment sank in. Aiko realized she had expected too much from this reunion. All she could see from her peripheral vision was the expressionless face that looked straight ahead. Mae did not seem to bother the person that was walking by her side.

A cab was waiting for them as they exited through the glass door which automatically slid apart. The night September air was warm. Aiko took off her cardigan, and carefully tucked it away into her brown sling bag. As they entered into the cab, Mae gave the driver the place of direction. Nodding to this instruction, the cab was soon running on the busy highway of Sydney.

“How’s it been lately?”

Aiko had no idea what else to ask. She was beginning to feel unease with the whole one sentence response, and the tense atmosphere between the two. The purpose of this reunion was much more than just a face-to-face encounter. She was expecting something good from this two week leave that she was taking.

“Please, don’t do this Mae. It’s been five long years since you left us.”

Mae’s eyes were fixed somewhere else. Her long slender legs were crossed, and her arms were folded together as if she were protecting herself.

“You’re here now – here where I am. That makes the difference.”

As she said this, her voice was almost toneless. It seemed as if nothing was there inside her to this whole reunion. No warmth. No noticeably kind reaction whatsoever.

Aiko remembered receiving an unexpected call a month ago in her office. Her secretary had told her that the caller only identified herself as someone she knows. She remembered hearing the voice which at first seemed unrecognizable. Only after the long silence at the other end of the line did she realize it was Mae. She remembered holding back the tears as Mae revealed her life that she had kept away from them for all those years. If only she knew how much they wanted her to come back. If only she knew how much it hurt them to see her part away from them. If only. Mae had gotten along with her life independently, and quite well indeed. Aiko only wished that she was there – that they were there – all along during those lost years without her.

“Mom and dad really miss you. We just really wish that you’re back home with us.”

She decided that that was enough said. That was all that Mae needed to know for the moment at least. Nothing else was said throughout the journey. The time showed a quarter past 11pm when the cab pulled in at the side of the road. Mae paid the cab-driver, and soon it disappeared as it came to a turn further down the road.

“Your room’s here. If you need anything else my room’s right across yours,” and soon the door was shut before Aiko could speak a word. She dropped herself back on the neatly spread covers on the bed listening to the movement of Mae around the house. She noticed that the room was much larger than it had first seemed now that she was actually in it. It was moderately furnished, and a small white cushioned chair was seen at one corner. At another corner was a glass cabinet that displayed a number of framed pictures. She lifted herself from the bed, and went up to the cabinet. The pictures were mostly of scenes of different places that captured the essence of beauty just as Mae had always captured it since she had her first camera. As she studied the pictures more carefully, she came across some other pictures that had Mae in them, and apparently with someone else. The happiness that she traced on Mae’s face seemed so pure and content. Seeing that, Aiko wished that Mae had showed the same expression when they met earlier at the airport. The sudden sound of a knock at the door awoke her from her thoughts.

“Good night.”

At the slight opened space of the door, Mae’s head peeped in. Her soft curls that were earlier tied were now hanging loosely below her shoulders.

“Good night.”

Aiko comforted herself from her earlier thoughts with the thought that at least Mae had cared to excuse herself courteously before retiring to bed. Feeling more settled with her emotions, she decided to retire as well.

At the table the following morning, Mae blurted out, “Aiko, I have something to tell you.” Hearing the statement, Aiko felt tightened inside fearing what she might hear. But the feeling quickly dissolved as she heard the following words.

“I’m getting married.”

Did she hear the statement correctly? Noticing the widened eyes on Aiko’s face, Mae nodded and said, “Next month.”

“I want you to be there… as my bridesmaid. I want mom and dad to be there too.”

After all these years away from home, and without a single word of news from her, Mae was now getting married in less than a month’s time. Aiko was speechless. For a moment it seemed that her entire body had just frozen, and that was when Mae looked at her with a wide smile on her face. Her eyes were beaming with joy, and her whole body seemed to lighten up.

“I thought you were still mad at us… me, mom, and dad,” the words tumbled out of Aiko’s mouth.

“Aiko, it’s been a long while since all of us were together. I have nowhere else to fully turn to, but to my family. I’m sorry for the way I’ve acted last night. It’s been awhile, you know. I…” tears started rushing down her cheeks as Mae struggled to maintain her flow of speech.
“I’m sorry for storming out from all of you like that. I wasn’t being fair to myself, and neither to all of you. I shouldn’t have…” and before she could finish her sentence, Aiko went up to her and embraced her.

“We didn’t mean to let you know the truth in such a way. Mom and dad just figured that you fitted perfectly in the family, and that you didn’t need to know – in fact, never at all. We all felt and still do feel that you were born into the family. I shouldn’t have brought out the idea. I knew I was wrong to bring up the matter, to even think of it.”

“No… you’re not wrong. None of you are wrong. I wasted all these years drowning myself in my own anger – something that wasn’t necessary at all. I realized I have a lot to be thankful for than to be angry at.”

With that Mae wrapped her arms around Aiko, and sank her head into her shoulders. After a long while, Mae broke into a weak giggle.
“You know, I feel stupid for what I’ve done. One person snapped me out from that stupidity… William. I really want you to meet him.”

“Yes, you are one stupid sister.”

By this time, both of them were wiping off the tears from their eyes. They looked into each other eyes, this time with a sense of warmness encircling them. Once again, it felt like those days where they’d pour out their feelings, and shared endless stories together. That cold expression earlier on, Aiko realized, was only a mask to hide what was really inside her sister. Who could’ve known that she would leave home so soon, going off to explore herself all alone? Her quiet and shy nature had now given way into a person that showed independence and control of her own life. She was no longer her baby sister. The only one thing that she regretted out of the relationship was missing out on her life during those lost years. She wished she was there to be a part of it. She was her only sister, and no one else could replace her. There couldn’t possibly be a way to compensate for those lost years, except to embrace the present and beyond. Now it is a different story. She’ll be a part of her sister’s life again with a beginning that means so much to her. She’ll be witnessing an important new chapter of her life. She couldn’t feel more blessed.

“Mae, I’ll have to call mom and dad to tell the news. We can both tell it to them over the phone later. And one more thing… I’d like to meet that William of yours today.”

Adventurous Life

Adventurous Life

In the biggest city in Ireland, there is a small family. Only a son lives with his old parents in the wealthy big house. His name is Kai. He is nineteen years. He is rich and educated man. His face never shows his smile and then people don’t know his heart by looking at his physical appearance. He is tall young man with beards and red muscular body. His family is business people but his home life does not bring him any happiness because parents are busy with their business.
He likes collecting musical instruments from different countries as he is in the city. His hobbies are hiking, horse riding and discovering birds and he is adventurous person. When he is angry he does not want to talk with others and he responds to people sharply. When he is in good mood, he just smiles a bit and a few hoarse words pop up. He never likes woman and his most unusual characteristic is he does not want to talk with any women.
In countryside, there is a poor farmer and he has a young energetic daughter. She is Valentina. She is seventeen years old and she is Irish. She is slim, tall young woman with long black down to her hip like a beautiful princess. Her face is like V shape and her rosy cheeks make her face look brighter when she smiles. She comes from a poor family from countryside.
Her hobbies are reading, singing with the kids and she likes to collect the wild flowers in the wood. Valentina likes to collect the bird nests with others friends when they have free time. When she goes out, she likes to wear long dress that embroidered with small flowers. She always carries a small basket to put the white wild flowers and fruits. She helps the poor widows and small children with housework and gives the children food whenever she sees them.
When she feels frustrated with anyone, she cries softly and the tears flow on her cheeks but she never fights back people. She can attract her friends and other people by singing with gentle voice that melts everyone’s hearts. The most unusual characteristic of Valentina is she likes throwing the small stones in the water when she feels very happy or when she feels really sad that makes everyone notices.
Back to the city, Kai is a grown up man and he has high education and he can help his father with business. He can replace his father when his father is a way for some reason but he does not want to work with his father because he does not interest in his father’s work. Kai always wanders with friends and enjoy being an adventurous person with different friends. One-day Kai’s father comes to his room.
Father said, “I have known that you enjoy adventurous life.”
Kai answers, “Yes, of course.”
His father asks, “Do you want to go to a place where you can enjoy with friends and experience a new adventure?” Kai looks confused because his father never asks him this kind of question before.
Kai replies, “Of course, do you see any place like that?”
His father immediately says, “I have a friend from the countryside. He is doing business of selling wild animals with me. I have to contact with him often and see the animals that he has caught. This week, I am very busy and I do not have time to go and see what he has kept some wild animals for me. I need you to replace me and go there. I hope that you like that place because the countryside is peaceful and quiet.”
Kai nods and he interests with catching wild animals too. His father shows him some pictures of countryside that he has to go and he looks around each picture. He smiles and he is agreed to go to that place.
Kai’s father continues joking, “you can discover wild life and you will have friends there too because my friend has a daughter who really enjoy with wild animals like you. I think you might really like her too. If you see her, you will forget to come back to the city.” Kai smiles a bit and agrees to go to the countryside, which is far away from city. People cannot communicate each other by phone.
In the morning, Kai packs his bags and starts his journey. He arrives to the place his father’s friend when the sun is almost set. The countryside looks green and quiet. Not long, he hears the noises of wild animals from the near jungle. He is so excited and he plans to catch a wild animal by himself tomorrow morning. The house looks quiet and later he sees a farmer with a hoe on his shoulder comes back towards the house. The farmer’s wrinkle face shows him a smile and welcomes him in the house. Kai does not see any daughter of the farmer but he just hears the noise from upstairs. He thinks that it might be the wild animals that the farmer caught for his father.
In the morning, Kai wakes up and he sees the sun rises horizontally to the coconut trees. The countryside looks peaceful where you can find the birds singing and the farm young animals romp happily in the farm. On the other side, you can hear the birds and monkeys are making noises in the jungle. Kai really interests in that place.
While he is looking out through the window, he sees a white figure with long hair passing him quickly and it disappears. He wonders it must be a ghost because the house looks quiet and scary. Kai and the farmer start working together and Kai enjoys checking the animals that the farmer has caught.
Kai starts wonders about what his father has told him that the farmer has a daughter but he does not see her in the house. In the first day, he discovers the beauty of the countryside; the different kinds of birds in the wood and hiking and taking pictures. Kai feels good with fresh countryside wind. In the evening, Kai hears the farming talking to someone and he peeps through the window and then he sees a young long hair woman talking and laughing together with her father. The farmer introduces Kai to his daughter, Valentina.
Kai says, “Hi, glad to be in your house.” It is the first time in Kai’s life that he talks kindly to girls.
Valentina glances at him and says, “Happy to see you here.” She turns away from Kai and continues talking to her father. Kai upsets a bit and he does not like the way Valentina talks to him. Kai stays in the farmer’s house almost one week and he understands that Valentina does not want his father to keep Kai to work with her father in their place.
For Kai, he finds that countryside is peaceful to stay so he continues his business with Valentina’s father. It is not a reason that Valentina is beautiful so he wants to stay. The reason is he likes walking in the forest and discovers the birds and the nests in the big tree. He does not know that he and Valentina interest the same things as watching the birds and hiking.
One day while Kai is aiming to catch a small bird with his own hand, the bird flies away because it hears the sound of broken branches. Kai turns around and sees the farmer’s daughter in her white dress picking up the wild flowers among the green grass. Kai looks at her and she looks at Kai. Their eyes meet each other and they cannot talk for a while because both of them do not like each other at home. Anyhow, Kai starts the conversation.
Kai says, “I did not know that you like to come to the wood like me.” Valentina gets angry when he compares himself with her. She turns to him.
“I like and enjoy wild life in the jungle since I was a small girl because I am a country girl, not like you.”
When they come back to the house, father asks Valentina to cook and Kai helps them with cleaning the dishes. After three months they start be friend to each other and then they become good friends.
When they have free time, they walk in the wood together and help each other with discovering the different sounds of wild animals. Kai gives Valentina a small sky blue notebook to write what she likes about the jungle life and the names of the birds. As they know each other more and more, they start like each other more than friends. They plan to meet each other in the wood where they usually go every day.
Sometimes Kai waits for Valentina but she does not appear. He looks for her and then he sees Valetina hides behind the tree. Then they sit down under the tree and chat until evening comes. One day Kai calls her and he gives her a small silver ring but she refuses to take it and she throw it back to him. Kai’s face grows sad and she walks away from him.
Valentina does not want to go to the wood with Kai anymore. Every time Kai calls her, she ignores him. Kai goes to the wood alone and he feels lonely without Valentina. As Kai comes as business trip, his work is done and everything is ready to send to the city.
One day Kai plans to go back to his place and continues his own work because he has finished his father’s work with Valentina’s father. He packs up his bags and carries his bag at his back and starts walking down the narrow path.
While he walks passing the wood and he still remembers Valentina more and more. He hears the sound like someone follows him. In his mind, he thinks that it might be Valentina and then he turns back. It is not Valentina, it is an angry tiger instead. The tiger moves closer and closers to Kai. He cannot find any way to escape and he only hears the tiger growling and he is scared to death.
He calls, “Help! Help! Help!” but no one is near to come and kills the tiger.
The tiger comes closer to him and the noise of the tiger’s growling and Kai’s screaming make the villagers come with the weapon to kill the wild animals.
When the villagers arrive, they see only the blood and they cannot find the tiger and Kai. Villagers, Valentina’s father and Valentina look for Kai everywhere but they cannot him except the blood. Behind one of the big trees, Valentina sees Kai’s bag. She rushes to it but she cannot find the owner. She cries for Kai.
For half and hour, while Valentina walks passed the big tree. Among the dry brown leaves, she hears the sound and she looks around and she sees Kai moans in pain and the blood is everywhere. Valentina rushes to him and she calls the villagers and they carry him to her house again. He is really weak and has to stay in bed.
Valentian cures his wound and he recovers after one month. Before Kai left Valentina’s house, he gives again Valentina the silver ring and tells her that he will come back again next business trip.
